Rosanna Lo Greco

Born in Venice, Italy in 1985 Rosanna Lo Greco is one of the most talented and interesting sopranos of her generation. After graduating with honors from the Conservatory of Venice she attended several master classes with Mariella Devia.

Winner of numerous international awards and opera competitions such as the First Prize at the X International Singing Competition “Istituto Internazionale per l’Opera e la Poesia – Fondazione Arena di Verona” for the role of Musetta in La Bohème (2013).

Recently she made her debut in Verona at the Teatro Filarmonico (Fondazione Arena di Verona) as Musetta in La Bohème, the title role in La Traviata in Graz (Austria), Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at Teatro Comunale in Belluno. She appeared as Clotilde in Norma at the Opera Festival of Macerata (Arena Sferisterio), Clotilde in Norma at the Lirico in Cagliari, First Lady in Die Zauberflöte at the Royal Opera House in Muscat (Oman). She also sang La Grande Sacerdotessa in Aida at the Opernfestspiele in St. Margarethen (Austria), Dame and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro and Papagena at the Teatro Regio in Torino, Teatro Comunale in Bologna and on tour in Italy: Como, Brescia, Reggio Emilia, Cremona , Milano (Arcimboldi), Roma (Olimpico), Vicenza, Novara, Pordenone and she was invited by the Italian Television RAI 1"Sabato In" to sing in West Side Story (Maria).

In the past seasons she performed as Musetta in La Bohème and Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro in Treviso, Fiordispina in L’Impresario in Angustie at the Teatro Arsenale in Venice; Susanna Le Nozze di Figaro in Udine and Trieste, Frasquita in Carmen in a co - production with the Teatro La Fenice.

Besides her opera career, Rosanna Lo Greco performs regularly in recitals and concerts throughout the world. In concert, she has sung Haydn’s Missa Brevis, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Nisi Dominus and Motet “Nulla in mundo pax sincera”, Bach’s Magnificat, Mozart’s Laudate Dominum and Requiem, Faure’s Requiem. In December 2015 and January 2016 she also participated at Christmas Concert with the Bashkent Academy Orchestra in Ankara (Turchey), conducted by Mladen Tarbuk. She also sang at the Qintai Concert Hall – China with the Wuhan Philarmonic Orchestra under the baton of James P. Liu, at the Teatro Politeama (Catanzaro) with the Calabria Philarmonic Orchestra (New Year's Concert) and at the Teatro La Fenice - Sale Apollinee in Venice.

In May and June 2016 she made her debut in the Verdi's Requiem at the Teatro Sociale in Trento and in Hamburg.

In February and March 2017 she sang in La Bohème (Musetta) at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and Verdi's Requiem in Trento and Padua.

She enjoyed successful collaborations with conductors such as Daniel Oren, Stefano Ranzani, Francesco Ivan Ciampa, Paolo Arrivabeni, Julian Kovatchev, Michele Gamba, Alfred Eschwé, Wolfgang Gröhs, Claudio Desderi, Mladen Tarbuk, J. P. Liu, Jader Bignamini and with stage directors such as Francisco Negrin, Stephen Medcalf, Stefano Simone Pintor, Francesco Maestrini, Francesco Micheli, Robert Dornhelm, Luigi di Gangi e Ugo Giacomazzi.

Her repertory includes such roles as Traviata, Aida, Amelia (Simon Boccanegra), Desdemona (Otello), Micaela (Carmen), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), La Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Mimì e Musetta (La Bohème), Liù (Turandot). 

Her upcoming engagements include: Micaela in Carmen, Musetta in La Bohème, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (Tianjin Grand Theatre, Harbin Grand Theatre, Hainan Grand Theatre, Banlam Grand Theater) during November/December 2017.

Among his recent and future engagements: La Bohème (Musetta) at the Teatro La Fenice and L’Elisir d’amore (Adina) at the Teatro Giuseppe Di Stefano, Trapani.
